The victim was taken by ambulance to White Plains Hospital, the driver cited for failure to yield to a person in a crosswalk, and the injury was thankfully not serious. The circumstances, however, have amplified the call for more pedestrian protection in Mamaroneck Village. Barry and Halstead Avenues Mamaroneck Mayor Sharon Torres acknowledged a deluge of complaints and comments about the intersection since the Thursday accident.
