Perinton man accused of having child porn and recording minor with hidden bathroom cam By News10NBC MGN. PERINTON, N.Y. — A Perinton man is facing federal charges after being accused of putting a camera in the bathroom of his home and recording women, including a 12-year-old girl. Matthew Marvin, 38, is charged with production and attempted production, receipt and possession of child pornography. On June 7, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a nude picture of a 12-year-old found on a laptop traced back to Marvin. Federal prosecutors say the photo was taken using a camera stored in the ceiling of a bathroom in Marvin’s home. During a forensic analysis of the laptop, prosecutors say five video files showing the same bathroom and women in the bathroom were recovered, one whom they say seemed to be a naked minor. On June 26, a search warrant was executed at Marvin’s home. Investigators say they seized numerous electronics, including a desktop computer, two hard drives, and Marvin’s phone. A forensic analysis of the electronic items recovered several thousand photos and videos. Prosecutors say the photos and videos were recorded from a camera inside of the bathroom. They also say the photos and videos seemed to be recorded over a nearly three-year time period. Investigators also say they found additional images and videos of child pornography, obtained via the internet, as well as search terms and websites associated with child pornography on the devices. Marvin is currently being held pending a detention hearing on Tuesday. He faces a minimum penalty of 15 years in prison and a maximum of 30 years.
