Poughkeepsie man arrested in Newburgh for armed robbery — Larchmont Community news

NEWBURGH – A 38-year-old Poughkeepsie man has been arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery in the City of Newburgh that took place on Thursday, October 22. The gunpoint robbery in the area of 8 City Terrace was investigated by the Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force detectives. Police located a man matching the suspect’s description riding a scooter near First Street and Carpenter Avenue. When detectives tried to stop him, the suspect, later identified as Carlos Diggs, fled on foot running through several backyards and over a number of fences before he was caught near 114 First Street. A 9 mm semi-automatic handgun loaded with three rounds was recovered. Diggs was charged with armed robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.
